Lucifer"'Lucifer, son of the morning!'" (Isaiah 14:12) Lucifer is an old Latin name for the original biblical term, "Day Star"–Latin, Lucifer. He was an angel created by God sometime in the primordial past. The Bible describes Lucifer in Ezekiel 28- in a message from God to "the king of Tyre" who was but a symbolic front for Lucifer, much like an apparent legitimate business may be little more than a front for the Mafia. "'You were the seal of perfection. Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.... You were the anointed cherub [angel] who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God;... You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created...'" (Ezekiel 28:11-15) "The anointed cherub who covers" in Bible language means "one who stands next to God." Psalm 99:1 So, Lucifer was a perfect angel who stood next to God. To pick up on his story from this point, return to the previous page on "Satan." |
