The story continues. He was born of a virgin in a backyard
cow stable, attested to by angel choirs and a guiding midnight star.
He grew up like other kids, except this Boy was exceptionally kind, unselfish,
loving, gentle, strong and gracious. He always turned the other cheek,
but never once appeared a weakling. When he reached His thirties,
He left His carpenter shop and journeyed south to a muddy river where He
was baptized and confirmed by a Voice from the heaven and a dove.
He wandered 40 days and 40 nights in the barren wilderness and was tempted
by the very fallen angel who once bowed
in loyal love to Him as King, a fiendish devil
who tried but failed to get this Man to abandon His trusting relationship
with His Father in heaven. He healed the sick, raised the dead, loved
the lonely and welcomed the sinners. So great was His love that it
exerted a "may-the-force-be-with-you" kind of power over every man, woman
and child who came seeking Him.
Jesus simply can't be explained as a good man like Buddha or Mohammed
or Confucius or Moses. The Bible makes the outlandish claim that
Jesus is God! To perceive Him
as anything less than God is to miss the whole point and impact of His
story.
The story of Jesus is not simply the biography of a good man.
It's the story of how much you mean to God, the story of the incredible
depths at which you are loved by Him, the story of how far He has gone
and will continue to go to secure your place with Him as your Forever Friend
in His eternal kingdom.
