About Us

Three Levels of Faith

1.  Faith is belief that certain things are true.  Believing that God exists is certainly a starting point. Hebrews 11:6  The New Testament calls for belief in Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God whose death brought atonement for sin and whose resurrection from the dead assures eternal life to all who commit their lives to Him. 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; John 3:16  (If you want evidence for the claims made in the Bible about Jesus–who He is and the meaning of His life and death–see our study, "The Spectacular Prophecy Nostradamus Missed.)

2.  Faith is trust.  When you buy a ticket on a commercial airliner, you're putting your faith in the engineers, the mechanics, and the pilot of that plane.  This is a higher and more committed level of belief than simply acknowledging that planes can fly.

3.  Faith is response, entering into the promises of God, receiving what they have to offer.  At this level of belief, you actually get on the plane and buckle your seat belt, entrusting your very life to the pilot and crew of the plane.  It's one thing to believe that God exists, and even to sign your name on a church roster or its equivalent somewhere to prove it.  It's another to commit yourself to Jesus and the way of life He calls you to in the Bible.
