Three Levels of Faith
1. Faith is belief that certain things are true.
Believing that God exists is certainly a starting point. Hebrews
11:6 The New Testament calls for belief in Jesus Christ as the
divine Son of God whose death brought atonement for sin and whose resurrection
from the dead assures eternal life to all who commit their lives to Him.
1 Corinthians 15:3,4; John 3:16 (If
you want evidence for the claims made in the Bible about Jesus–who He is
and the meaning of His life and death–see our study, "The Spectacular Prophecy
Nostradamus Missed.)
2. Faith is trust. When you buy a ticket on
a commercial airliner, you're putting your faith in the engineers, the
mechanics, and the pilot of that plane. This is a higher and more
committed level of belief than simply acknowledging that planes can fly.
