Evidence for the Bible
To provide an intellectual foundation for believing
that the Bible is true and that Jesus is everything it claims Him to be,
God inspired many prophecies in the Bible that have subsequently come true.
The purpose of biblical prophecies was not merely, or even primarily, to
make known what would happen in the future, but was to provide to later,
more sophisticated generations the evidence they would need to believe
in the authenticity of a book written centuries earlier, and in its message
of personal salvation and hope. John 14:29
This present study, "The Spectacular Prophecy Nostradamus Missed," is one
powerful example of such a prophecy.
Physicist Sir Isaac Newton, one of the most brilliant scientific minds
of the 19th century, believed in the integrity of the Bible on the basis
of the many Biblical prophecies that have been fulfilled. He concluded
that the fulfilled prophecies of the Bible were God's way of authenticating
the claims it makes about Jesus as the savior of the world. On that
basis, he came to believe and accept Jesus as his personal savior.
Many bright, modern seekers have done the same.
