 Earthquakes
In the entire 19th century there were only 2,119 recorded earthquakes.
In 1993 alone there were 21,476! While more sophisticated instruments
to detect earthquakes account for some of the reported increase, scientists
who track earthquakes note an alarming increase. Presently, 3000
quakes annually are being recorded at over 6 points on the Richter scale.
One and a half million people have died in earthquakes in the past 90 years.
And with trepidation, seismologists and geologists still await the BIG
ONE.
