Watch and Pray
When Jesus said we need to "watch and pray" to be prepared for His return, He was referring to a relationship with God that is non-stop, a continual way of life, a lifestyle. It's not something we can ignore most of our lives and then cram for at the last minute. It involves being open to God moment by moment, being conscious of His presence, and living by His values as revealed in the Bible. While such a relationship involves a daily commitment, it begins and can be renewed in a single moment. You can be in a saving relationship with God and ready for Jesus to come right now by asking God to be an integral part of your life from this moment on. Here is a sample prayer to begin that relationship. |

"Dear God, I do want a relationship with You. I thank You that You have never given up on me. Thank You for making me aware that Jesus' return is near. I want to be ready for that. Live with me each day. Help me live a life that is different because it is lived with You. I give You permission to do whatever You need to do in my life to make that a reality. In Jesus name, Amen." If you are serious about a relationship with God, it will be important
for you to get a Bible. Prayerfully reading the Bible every day will
give God a chance to share with You some of the most important things He
has revealed to the entire human race. As you read you will get the
feeling that He is speaking to you personally. He is.
